Taking Action!

1. Share! The single most important thing you can do is share this website and vision with others. Tell them to subscribe to the newsletter, since the msiling list is the growing community. If you don’t know what to say, simply tell them to visit the website ThePowerOfUs.co, and that you think this movement has great promise. Let them see for themselves on this site. Every person you enroll can multiply your effectiveness manyfold!

2. Find a buddy / partner, check in with each other, and hold each other gently accountable to the actions you have decided to take, within your time and energy budget. If you are going through or completed the group gatherings process, commit to continue meeting for at least the next 90 days, every two weeks.

3. Starting another group, call up friends, and have a dinner, tea, snacks, whatever, to introduce them to the program. The either join them for their four gatherings, or empower them to guide themselves with the help of the website.

4. ACTION – consider the following options, and pick one or more that call to you. These actions can be taken in as little as five minutes a day, but collectively, they add up to big impact.

Community Agreements

These agreements are aspirational, intentional, and call us each to aim at the being the best of ourselves in relationship to others. They are not rules, they are a way of being that we choose together for our own growth and each other’s. We are a decentralized community, which means these agreements are the center, and we are each on the honor system to hold ourselves and each other to them, with patience and compassion. We are imperfect creatures, yet with clear agreements, we can be always improving.

  1. Speak the truth with compassion
  2. Treat others as I wish to be treated…with patience, forgiveness and understanding
  3. Take responsibility for my stories & conditioning
To acknowledge we all carry trauma, and to own our own shadow. We choose not to indulge our reactions, but to come from choice and conscious response.
  4. Resolve conflict nonviolently & asap
We follow the principles of Nonviolent Communication, with patience for each other
  5. To hold each other and be held accountable to these agreements, with compassion. We agree to be asked how we are relating to these agreements and name where we may be having difficulty with them. This helps us arrive at a place of deeper mutual understanding and shared commitment.
